What Matters Most
15 years ago, we held the very first In His Steps camp. At that time, it was not part of the plan to make it an annual event. It was just 16 of us who camped on a mountain on the outskirts of Ilorin, Kwara State. But here we are, 15 years later, and camp has continued to grow stronger each year and we have now also held two camps in the United Kingdom (in 2024 and 2025). To God be the glory! Also grateful for everyone God has used to support us along the way. May you experience God’s reward here on earth and in heaven.
From that very first camp back in 2011 when we huddled around the crackling fire on a cold harmattan night, gloves in hand, praising the Lord, we have gone on to hold camp in hotels, beach houses, apartment buildings and infact in the forest too! Someday soon, we shall be holding it on the camp grounds the Lord Himself would provide! Amen to that!
The beautiful thing is that we don’t just gather for a retreat, we also launch out to impact our community. It has been deeply fulfilling to have stepped out during past camps and embark on outreaches to vulnerable groups and communities. Ziva and I are in awe of the amazing Tribe God has raised through IHS Camp and through other projects we do at In His Steps Movement. And that Tribe includes you reading this!
Our theme for the 2025 December camp is WHAT MATTERS MOST, drawn from Luke 10. As we gathered together, we had a lot of moments where the presence of God was palpable. We are overjoyed by the blessings received and the godly encounters at this year’s camp. Grateful for all the vessels God used to be a blessing to us. You can read a camper’s reflection here.

Hope you will join us for one of our 2026 camps (in the UK and in Nigeria)
